  Soles for Students

Image result for shoes clipart

Do you have old shoes hanging around in your closet? You can get rid of them and help feed a child. It's that easy. Otsego Public Schools' Backpack Buddies program is launching a community-wide shoe drive to raise money for their program which provides students in need with food for the weekends. Starting February 1st, there will be a collection box in each of our schools that will take any type of shoe - tennis shoes, work boots, dress shoes, etc. - as long as they are gently used or new. They need to be able to be worn again. A group called Funds2Orgs will give us 40 cents for every pound of shoes donated through the end of April. Funds2Orgs helps developing countries so it's a win-win-win! You get rid of shoes, help feed Otsego children and help developing countries all with one donation! It takes about $135 each year to fund one student for Backpack Buddies. There are about 60 students district-wide being served by the program but the need is great. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!  There is also a black garbage can labeled in the fellowship hall,  if you want to drop the  Shoes in there.  Thanks for helping us Support this wonderful cause.

Image result for Gently Used Books clipartBooks Needed Please help out and donate gently used children’s books!

There’s a new bus coming to town!  Starting this June a mobile library will be available for Otsego students.  It’s the Bulldog Bookin’ Bus!  It will be a bus full of books that will travel around our district.  Guest readers will come and read their favorite books; kids can stop by and grab a book to read or take home!

We need you to help fill it!  We are taking donations of gently used or new books geared toward kids Pre-K-8th grade!  Our church is a drop off location! Please place your books in the bus shaped box located by the welcome station!  Thanks for supporting the literacy bus!
